David Natali is the Assistant Winemaker for Robert Biale Vineyards, working with Winemaker Tres
Goetting on transforming amazing grapes into spectacular wines. On a day to day basis, he manages the
cellar, including barrel preparation, bottling, organization and implementation of all winemaking
objectives, as well as harvest activities.
A native of New York, David caught the wine bug shortly after graduation from Georgetown University
and moved from the East Coast to the Napa Valley in 2004. Starting as a “lowly cellar rat,” he rose
through the ranks to become Assistant Winemaker at Clos Pegase Winery before eventually departing
Napa to pursue graduate viticulture and enology studies in France and Italy. After two and a half years of
living and studying in Southern France and Friuli, Italy, David returned to California with a degree and
made wine for a boutique Pinot Noir producer in Sonoma County before joining Robert Biale.
David lives in Napa with his wife and two children and considers it a privilege to work with some truly
unique and historic vineyards.
