Andrew was born and raised on a farm in Oakville, Napa Valley. His rural upbringing fostered a love of horses, which lead to competing nationally on the American Quarter Horse circuit for many years.
He attended UC Davis where he received a degree in Evolutionary Anthropology and a minor in Art History. While contemplating graduate school, he worked at a wine-centric restaurant where he “fell” into the wine industry, quickly becoming enthralled with its cultural history and its limitless learning potential.
Andrew holds a “Spanish Wine Scholar” and “French Wine Scholar” certification through the Wine Scholar Guild and is currently pursuing his WSET Diploma.
He is also a photographer, specializing in agriculture/wine industry and nature. In his free time he loves to go for long walks with camera in hand, perfect his pizza-making skills and potter about his garden.
