Al Perry was an original founding partner and winemaker at Biale for 18 years and has been making wine in the Napa Valley for over thirty years. One of Al’s gifts and contributions to Biale was to recognize that Zinfandel was more similar to Pinot Noir than to other varieties. His elegant, fruit forward style has remained a hallmark of Biale wines. Al certainly contributed to Biale’s mission of recognizing Zinfandel’s historic importance and preserving it in Napa Valley, in particular old vine Zinfandel.
